EarPrompter Expert Seal EarPrompter

What the heck is an EarPrompter and how does it work?  It's simple, an EarPrompter can become your secret weapon during speeches, presentations, auditions and on shoot days.  Instead of of seeing and reading your script like with a TelePrompTer, you HEAR your script in your ear with a special earpiece that fits into your ear canal and is commonly attached to a small recorder, sometimes wireless.  You record your script with the pacing and emphasis that your presentation calls for and "parrot" it back as you listen.  What? Sounds like a major juggling act and you have trouble walking and chewy gum at the same time?  Nonsense, once you learn this skill you are in total control and free to give a great performance without worrying about remembering what you want or need to say.

No need to ever look down at your notes again, or break eye contact to find your spot on that awful cue card.  Producers love this skill for so many reasons.  First, EarPrompters can go where TelePrompTer's can't.  Like when you're out on location and there's no AC power, or there's sunlight glaring into a TelePrompTer screen, the TelePrompTer goes down, or they simply do not want to incur the expensive of hiring a TelePrompTer and operator for the day.  If the read needs to be an exact time, once it's recorded to time, your delivery will hit that time mark with every read.  With your EarPrompter the potential to save money and save time is always there.

Casting Directors generally welcome EarPrompters.  They've got wall to wall copy for you, it's a spokesperson audition, and you've just delivered that copy straight into the lens like you've known it your whole life - that's a prepared talent.  While it's not right for all auditions, if you've got the skill and the equipment in your bag, you'll have it at your fingertips ready to use once you have evaluated the audition environment and need.  Click on EarPrompter for additional info.
